well when we all started this sport we know that the cars or bikes we knew that it would cost us as far as effecting i have heard from alot of people say that counts at local tracks are down... so i would say yes it is. but yet at the same time some of the bigger races are drawing just as much if not more then before so i think people are just picking what races they want to go to instead of racing every weekend for the fun of it... me i still run at my local track every weekend sat and sunday....

Alot, but you find a way to get there. Traveling is out, but the big dollar local events have become an option.

Not yet but if prices stay this
high or get even higher it will.
This reminds me a whole lot of
the early 80s and I really hope
it doesn't hurt the sport the way
it did back then.

gas prices suck but what can you do. hopefully, they will go down eventually....

the good ole days of getting your gas for 1.50 to 2.00 to hell...even a single dollar per gallon...

Well it makes it tougher! Hell it cost more to and from the track than it does to race it almost seems! The new increase in racing fuel really sucked but when ya bracket race what are ya going to do! We are dedicated at our local tracks just cant afford to travel anymore! However drag racing every saturday is the best way to relieve the stress of a crappy week,so im there Dude!Sky

I think gas prices r effecting track days VERY little. its not about the cost...its about the love of the sport and the love of the cars and the love of driving!

I have to say NO. Racing is something I love, so the price of gas WILL NEVER affect when and how I race. Period.

not mine

It hurts everbody, and even the spectators. Our local track has seen a huge loss in cars and spectators at the track. But if you can afford it, you will keep doing it....

For some people the gas prices probably are, I mean some people arent as fortunate as others. Went to the local 1/8 mile drags where im from, barely any cars showing up anymore. Probably a lot of them parked for a while til we see a drop in these prices, if we ever do.

Im not the one that races but my dad is and he said that gas prices dont really bother him because his hobbie is to race and he will do what it takes to keep racing!!!!
