nothing beats good old american muscle!!! the sound of a blown V8 nothing is better... the rice burners sound like a bunch of pissed of bees and well that just aint what racing is about!!!!
I've had both kinds of cars. '69 Mustang and an Acura Integra. I loved the raw power and the feeling of driving a true classic with the Mustang. But I loved the nimble abilities and the massive aftermarket potential of the Integra.
To make this a little more complicated, I'm going to throw out there that I would honestly rather drive a German car than either rice of muscle. I currently have an Audi that will do just about anything I want it to. I think it's the perfect meeting of the minds between raw power and cornering ability.
MUSCLE! Theres nothing like the sound of a lopey cam and deep tuned exhaust. Muscle cars lift the front tires and are not propeled by them! Thats racing.
Muscle-smuscle You just don't get it. V8 are suppose to be fast. If mommy and daddy could buy me a Mustang I might have one too. It's about taking something that we can aford and make it go as fast as an 8 cylinder. You just don't like to hear that someone spent alot less money for a car that can go just as fast. We like the same things, but you just don't see it that way.
I have a 67' mustang and a 06' Subaru WRX STI. I love the STI more. It is just a blast to drive. It will out handle almost anything on the road today, and I can out run most v8's The symetrical AWD gets a better launch than FWD or RWD cars. Everybody has this image in their head about rice burners. Aynowing loud and slow. The only reason for that is, there are so many after market companies for rice, so everybody in the world goes out and buys a cheap noise maker and thinks they are fast. But if you run into someone who built a rice car the right way, it will devistate all. A true sleeper. Look at a Supra or a Skyline. 3.0 6 cylinders and can get over a 1000hp out of them. Dont get me wrong. I love American Muscle. There is nothing that beats the sound of a V8, But if I had my choise it would be a Jap car.
I am a Muscle Car Fanatic;] I prefer the Old School Mopars {CUDAS} over all but all the Old Muscle far Surpasses anything they have today! They just had way more class, destinction, style, and more importantly POWER! There's just nothing like a car that slings you back in your seat and raises the front wheels! The old Muscle purrs like a happy tiger kitten not a sick weedeater!I cant say any of the drag races I have ever been to have a rice burner in the winners circle at the end of day! And REAL CARS do LIFT the front wheels they dont power them! They call it Posi baby!!!;]Sky
now hear me out, I'm a muscle guy, I own a 69 superbee.. i mean come on... 440 wedge, six pack and 4 on the floor. it SCREAMs muscle, but i bought a toyota for a work car, and factory it blows mustans and camaros out of the water without hesitation- a Toyota Supra. No replacement for displacement, but all this new technology with computers and turbos makes a killer 6 cylinder... I still hate 4 bangers though. Look at the buick GNX.
well I do agree that technology has made 6's way better than what they once were! However nothing can replace the purrrr and power of Old Muscle;] I cant bring myself to buy anything new unless it's maybe the New Challenger or the Cuda they are talking of bring out soon, but even they dont quite measure up to the old class...But that's just me;] Ya I will spend wayyyy more at the gas pump but I will look good and sound good doing it;]heheheehehehe Old Muscle accept no substitutions!Im off to the track to play with my 69 Cuda...Later guys...Sky
A lot of times, when it comes down to it, it's the driver that wins races, not the car (there has to be a huge advantage for it to be all car). That said, I can't find anything that is better than all that torque that comes from a V8 engine. Stock for stock, it tears at the competition, and let's not forget that when you tune a ricer to compete on the strip you actually lose all of that fuel economy advantage that is so bragged about.
Then you wanna compare suspension setups? Today, American cars are highly underrated and underestimated in this aspect. Even the last generation camaro/firebird were penalized because people had trouble controlling the torque, so they went to rivals where the lack of torque made the wheels easier to plant.
YOu want a ricer? Good for you. But I've made my choice.
lol give me a break rice is a joke its a fad dont give me the whole its cheaper bs you guys spend more on body kits and wheels and stereos then you do your motors lol thats why they are slow so go blow on a conk shell while you eat your susushi and fried rice lol sell your ricer and stereo and buy a rear drive v8 car or shut up lol or get spotted 18 lengths and look a dumb ass
anyone who owns or supports any car that's no American should be thrown out of the country because they r not American & they don't support this country ..thanks to all who drive jape cars & keep buying them we are lousing all of our GOOD AMERICAN CARS & they r putting our people out of work...THANKS....TRADERS
When I read this blog I was really going to just put in my opinion and let it go at that. However, you sir need to think a little more before you decide to talk (and maybe figure out how to use spell check).
Here is what you said:

So if I understand you correctly, any person that owns a car that is not American should be considered a TRAITOR and kicked out of the country, right? That sounds a lot like having a nationalized industry. Guess who tried to do that and failed. Communist Russia.
Did you know that many "JAPE" cars you see on the road are made here in the USA? If we were to follow your advice we would be putting thousands of hard working Americans out of jobs. Furthermore, most of the electronics for modern American cars are imported from Japan. Did you know that? In addition to that, many of the American cars that you see on the road are actually assembled in Mexico. So by buying American, you are actually supporting the Mexican economy. And based on your post I'm going to assume that you're the type of person that has complained about Mexicans coming to the US and taking our jobs. If we were to remove our manufacturing plants from Mexico two things would happen. First, the price of American cars would sky rocket due to having to pay American labor union wages. And second, thousand of hard working Mexicans would be out of jobs. Guess where they'd look for work. You got it! Right here in the US.
So to sum up: Following your advice would crash the global economy and put tens of thousands of people out of work. Our domestic automotive industry would be ruined and we'd all be left driving cars that wouldn't be able to meet any of the current or future Federal guidelines because we wouldn't have the modern fuel control and and safety electronics (or the existing infrastructure to manufacture those electronics) that enable us to meet those demands.
So what you're suggesting is actually a terrible idea and goes against everything that makes the USA great (free market and supply and demand). Think, if you will, for just one second. Can the hundreds of thousands of people that have bought "JAPE" cars be wrong? Obviously the "JAPE" car companies are doing something right.
OMG!! There is no comparison....THIS GIRL WANTS MUSCLE!! There is nothing like a chevy big block barrelling down the interstate at 110mph, the throaty hum of a couple of flow masters with cut outs...give me a drag strip with a 69 camaro big block and 10seconds..woohoo!!
You all are very very funny. For one they are 4 cylinders, none of this "rice" shit you are talking about. A rice car is a 4 cylinder that someone puts a stupid can on a stock exhaust and then puts a bodykit and thinks its cool. Then again all your mustangs with flowmasters are the same damn thing.
I just recently saw a 2000 civic with 1200 horsepower out of a 4 cylinder that ran 7.86 in the quarter. Oh yeah i forgot all 8 cylinders can do that. I would be happy about a 66 Mustang that did 15.99 in the quarter, NOT.
Stupid fight though because all you guys with Mexican built V8s never even think about anything but your damn V8s being the fastest things around.
definitely muscle cars all the way those shows seem to be a lot more exciting than rice burners. Id love to see some quads on your show. They are making a name for themselves in the midwest, theres some quads running a 1/4 mile at 125 miles an hour. Thats one type of vehicle we have yet to see on pinks. Weve seen snowmobiles, weve seen bikes, cars, trucks, perhaps that would be an exciting show, some drag racing quads.
I participated in the Arm Drop race last season in Woodburn Oregon.I showed up with my low 9 sec Eagle Talon on moderate boost. I made all the way for the big money and it was down to the last 4 of us when I bogged at the line. My ricer makes 961 all wheel drive hp, and I would have this car over my 68 mustang any day. I grant you that v8 muscle sound bad ass, but 120 cu inches going 8's is way cooler than any v8. Just take any normal guy and see how much money it take for them to make 9 hp per cubic in on pump gas.
You can race the type of your choice. But, just taking your cat off, putting a wing on the back and calling it fast is not cool though. I prefer cars with the LS series V8's as well as the old school ones.
MUSCLE ALL THE WAY........its what started drag racing and what makes it great to this day.nothing better than to see or hear a muscle car going down the street or strip or even at a show.NOTHING BETTER THAN AMERICAN MUSCLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Muscle,nothing touches an American
V8 for torque & raw power!
I grew up around Detroit Muscle, and I race a Plymouth Roadrunner but I do tow with a Toyota Tundra. Which is American made too.
I've gotta go with good old muscle. The lugnust on my 66 chevy pickup have more torque than a ricer engine has.

PURE MUSCLE...the rice burners just dont look right in the burnout box burning their little itty bitty front tires.
